Description

The test file testare.xlsx stores the nineteen FEM cases used for ML and other methods. Each row is one crack, with normalised position, labelled severity, and six relative frequency shifts. Severity is determined and fixed at s=0.016 and the cuts run from 0.05 to 0.95 in steps of 0.05. The six columns are the RFS of bending modes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9, not the first six modes in order. The simulated beam is a cantilever of length L=1000mm, width = B=20 and thickness H=5mm, in structural steel. The file test testare_lab uses the same column layout for the four laboratory cantilevers. Each row is a measured RFS vector from intact and damaged natural frequencies on a beam of length L=1mm, width B=30 mm and thickness H=6 mm. Severity is s=0.003657 on every beam, and the cuts sit at x/L=0.055 ,0.300, 0.700 and 0.945. The file lab 10b is a mode-shape atlas of the cantilever, not a catalogue of cracks. It tabulates 501 stations along the beam, from the clamped root to the free tip, in steps of 0.002 of the length. At each station it stores the squared normalised curvature of six bending modes. Those six numbers describe how strongly a crack at that station would affect each mode. This atlas only describes the undamaged beam’s modal curvature along its length.
